Toyota Prado Car Details

Toyota Prado (well-known as Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and Lexus GX in USA) is a model designation used in Japan, Australia, South Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Southeast Asia and in the Philippines as well as other parts of the world for medium-duty, mid-sized four-wheel drive cars in the Toyota Land Cruiser line. They are produced by the Japanese car maker Toyota Motor Corporation. The current Prado is based on Toyota's J150 platform. Previous models were based on the J70, J90 and J120 platforms. All models designated Prado feature front independent suspension, ladder frame and a two-speed transfer case.

First appeared in 2002, the third generation model included a re-designed front suspension to address reliability concerns of the previous generation, and an all new body designed at Toyota's ED2 design studio in France. The fifth generation was available in some markets since October 2009. There are two base versions: a five-door variant and a three-door variant. The five door variant in the general market is offered in TXL & VXL grades - which are much more option packed. This generation of Prado features advanced 4WD capabilities and an array of electronic gadgets. This model is available with a rear mounted spare tire or under-floor mounted spare wheel, depending on the market.

Toyota Prado has improved handling with the new Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS). KDSS claims to electronically modulate individual suspension members to provide a flatter ride through corners and to help absorb bumps off-road. Competing against the likes of the Mitsubishi Pajero, Nissan Pathfinder, Land Rover Discovery, Mitsubishi Challenger, et al. the Prado strikes a balance between driveability in the city and rock hopping in the bush.

The Prado’s exceptional list of standard features, in addition to passenger comfort levels and interior room place it ahead of the field, certainly in this price bracket. As a 4WD, the Prado still ranks as one of the best. With the transmission issue aside, the Multi-Terrain modes generally worked well and helped assist during tricky situations. The front and side cameras were also a godsend in situations where it was impossible to see the other limits of the car.Experience this car when you visit Manila, check us out at ManilaRentACar.comhttp://www.manilarentacar.com
