The Toyota Camry is a series of mid-size (originally compact) automobiles manufactured by Toyota since 1980, and sold in the majority of automotive markets throughout the world. The name "Camry" is an Anglicized phonetic transcription of the Japanese word kanmuri , meaning "crown". This follows Toyota's naming tradition of using the crown name for primary models starting with the Toyota Crown in 1955, continuing with the Toyota Corona and Corolla; the Latin words for "crown" and "small crown", respectively. "Camry" is also an anagram for "my car".
For the East and Southeast Asian markets, high specification Camry models are seen as executive cars. Since the 2001 model, the Camrys sold in these markets have sported revised front- and rear-end treatment. For the 2006 onwards versions, the same was done, although the Australian-designed Toyota Aurion which is based on the 2006 Camry was the donor model. The Aurion features revised front- and rear-end styling and changes to the interior, but is fitted with the same powertrains.
The benchmark Toyota Camry sedan continues its reputation of safety, reliability, and quality while offering fuel efficiency, space, and power. For businesses, Toyota Camry is one of the well-known
exclusive cars for rent in Manila.
The Camry is a front-wheel drive, five-passenger, four-door sedan featuring four trims: Base, LE, SE, and XLE. A new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission are standard; a six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shifting is optional. LE, SE, and XLE models are available with a 3.5-liter V6 and six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shifting. Stability and traction control, seven-airbags, and tire pressure monitor are standard.
The 2010 Toyota Camry receives interior and exterior redesign, a new 2.5-liter engine, and six-speed manual transmission. Vehicle stability control is now standard on all trims.

Stability control automatically senses when the vehicles handling limits have been exceeded and reduces engine power and/or applies select brakes to help prevent the driver from losing control of the vehicle.
Front-impact airbags
Front-impact airbags for the driver and passenger have been designed to protect the head during a frontal crash.
Side impact airbags
Side impact airbags for the front seats have been designed to protect the torso during a side impact collision.
Overhead airbags
Overhead airbags are used to protect the occupant's heads in the event of a side collision or rollover.
Knee airbags
Knee airbags help to protect the occupants lower extremities from serious injury in the event of an accident.
Pretensioners
Seatbelt pretensioners automatically tighten seatbelts to place the occupant in the optimal seating position during a collision.
Security system
The vehicle is equipped with an ignition disable device that will prevent the engine from starting if the correct original manufacturer key is not used.
